About Cherry Data

I founded Cherry Data after almost 20 years in the London Insurance Market, starting in technical roles and progressing into data leadership.

My journey began while still in school, working for a firm building claims management systems. By successfully tackling a legacy technical challenge that had been considered intractable, I demonstrated a clear ability to deliver results where others had hit a wall. What began as a short work placement evolved into a multi-year partnership; I spent my early career maintaining server infrastructure and enhancing web applications, quickly establishing myself as a trusted advisor to the company's leadership.

By the age of 16, I was already on-site with law firms, brokers, insurers, and MGAs. That early exposure to the London Market gave me a perspective many data consultants lack: I understand the industry landscape first, and the data second.

A Career of Continuous Delivery

My path to founding Cherry Data has been defined by staying "close to the coalface" while moving into strategic leadership.

• From Code to Strategy: In my early years, I developed end-to-end claims management systems and underwriting tools for Solicitors’ PI insurance. These weren't just technical exercises; they are platforms still used daily by insurers and brokers to drive business over a decade later.
• Navigating Change: Over a ten-year stretch of continuous service, I was a key part of the technical team through four major acquisitions and integrations. I have seen firsthand the challenges of merging data cultures and systems, and I've navigated the complexities of TUPE transfers from the inside.
• Management & Architecture: I transitioned into dedicated data leadership as a Business Intelligence & Reporting Manager, where I led teams in building collaborative, best-in-class analytics portals. This journey culminated in my role as Head of Data Architecture for a global insurer, where I was responsible for defining and driving regional data strategies and digital transformations.

Why I Started Cherry Data

After two decades of helping organizations transform their data landscapes, I reached a point where I wanted the freedom to advocate for the products and services I truly believe in.

Cherry Data is the result of that determination. My first contract was with my former employer to support a major data integration following an insurer acquisition—a testament to the trust and professional relationships I've spent my career building.
